Skier dies at Colorado resort on Christmas Day
According to a press release from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, a skier died at Keystone Resort on Christmas Day. The skier was found unconscious on a run with no sign of collision.
While the skier was identified as a 66-year-old male, the name was withheld in the press release pending notification of next-of-kin.
On the surface, this skier death has several similarities to another death that occurred at Keystone on December 22. In that case, a 52-year-old male was found unconscious at the base of a Keystone run and later pronounced dead.
This is the 4th on-resort death of the season. Aside from the aforementioned death at Keystone, two previous deaths have been caused by collisions, including 21-year-old Daniel Giger who had an accident at Breckenridge and 26-year-old Bill Brockmuller who had a collision at Eldora.
