Roundup: Last meeting of the year for the food bank
Howdy! The Waterville Food Bank is open today from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the Senior Center for the final time this year.
Bit. The varsity basketball teams play in Pateros Friday and Manson on Saturday. Girls tip off at 6:30 p.m., boys at 8 p.m. Friday, and 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Bridle. The Waterville Town Council will next meet on Monday at 7:30 p.m. The first town council meeting of the new year is set for Jan. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
Gee. School vacation for the holidays begins on Dec. 23.
Haw. Town hall will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
Whoopityiyiyo. Lady Luck is old — at least 2,000 years old. In ancient Roman she was the goddess of Fortuna, with temple worship. Her image was on Roman coins. She is often shown blindfolded or as a juggler to show the fickleness of fate and nature.
