Shocker girls fall against Pateros, Manson
Girls powerless against Pateros
By Jim Rogers
A strong Pateros team put the Waterville girls varsity basketball team in the hole Dec. 17. The Shocker girls, who fell 52-15, had been battling illness.
Coach Kassie Ludeman said sickness prevented the team from getting in practices, and they were short of players.
“The girls did not play up to their potential and were very flat. Pateros is a good team,” she said.
Girls improve against Manson
Despite a humiliating defeat the night before against Pateros, the Shocker girls challenged Manson to a game on Saturday, but ending up losing 26-18.
Ludeman said, “We played better, but our shots were not falling, and the girls were not energetic enough to win the game.”
