Richard D. Smith Sr.

Richard D. Smith Sr., 78, of Brewster, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010.

He was a former 20-year resident of Manson and had lived in Brewster for 14 years. He had served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force for 23 years, owned and operated Smitty’s Country Store, operated Manson Bay Union service station, both in Manson, and was a Washington State Department of Agriculture fruit inspector.

Survivors include his wife, Ivonne M. Smith of Brewster; his children, Richard D. Smith and Rebecca J. Driver, both of Brewster, Daniel E. Smith of Morriston, Fla., and Deborah M. Monette of Chelan; and two brothers and three sisters.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at American Legion Columbia Post 97 in Brewster.

Maria De La Cerda Perez

Maria De La Cerda Perez, 75, of Brewster, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010.

She had lived in Brewster for 53 years. She had been a homemaker and had worked for Gebbers Farms.

Survivors include her children, Lupe De La Cerda, Pedro De La Cerda Jr., Guillermina Lucus and Norma Fonesca.

Services were held Monday at the New Testament Baptist Church in Brewster, with burial at Locust Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Barnes Chapel.
