Things To Do
For the kid in all of us, this hot springs is more community pool than intimate soaking experience. With several large pools, waterslides and an obstacle course, the kids will be glad you came. Adults can find a more secluded spot away from the splashing and quietly enjoy the crisp mountain air and the rugged views of the box canyon that makes Ouray one of Colorado’s most scenic towns.
After three days backpacking in the Uncompahgre Wilderness, a group of us decided to rest weary legs at the hot springs. We didn’t know there were quieter, more intimate hot springs options and were at first disappointed, until we started swimming and doing laps on the waterslide. Soon we were laughing and splashing and forgetting about all the miles on the trail.
Pro Tips
Recommended season(s): Summer for families with kids, the rest of the year for individuals or couples looking for more peace and quiet.
