Things To Do
Lookout Mountain Park sits atop 7,374-foot Lookout Mountain on the edge of the Front Range above Golden. The 66-acre Denver Mountain Park, once a favored viewpoint of Ute Indians, is the gravesite of famed frontiersman William “Buffalo Bill” Cody. The Buffalo Bill Museum in the park honors his memory. The park offers wide-ranging views across the Denver metro area, including downtown skyscrapers to the east and the Continental Divide peaks to the west. Jefferson County Open Space lands, including Windy Saddle Park and Lookout Nature Preserve, abut Lookout Mountain. Besides visiting the museum, visitors enjoy hiking the Buffalo Bill and Lookout Mountain trails to Colorow Point, another Denver mountain park with stunning views.
