Tunnel Campground, located near the Laramie River and the West Branch Laramie River, is a popular 49-site campground in Roosevelt National Forest west of Fort Collins. The campground, at 8,600 feet in an open lodgepole pine forest, is open from June to October on a first-come first-served basis. Each site has a tent pad, picnic table, and fire grate. The campground has four vault toilets and water, although many campers prefer bringing their own drinking water. Parking spurs range from 25 to 70 feet long, accommodating a variety of RV and trailer sizes. Fires are allowed in grates unless restrictions are in place and dead and downed wood can be collected or purchased from the campground hosts. Popular activities here include relaxing, fishing in the Laramie River, and hiking. Keep an eye out for moose along the river.
