Description: Nestled along a 3-mile reservoir in the flourishing Yampa Valley, the park is popular among water sports enthusiasts. The lake has a full-service marina and areas designated for the wakeless bunch. About 8 miles of trails braid through Stagecoach, with two gravel pathways reserved for hikers.
Activities: Boating, sailing, jet skiing, paddle sports, swimming, hiking, biking, horseback riders, fishing, hunting, camping, cross-country skiing/snowshoeing
Wildlife: Elk, mule deer, fox, coyotes, badgers and beavers; bald eagles, American white pelicans, white-faced ibis, eurasian coots, great blue herons, yellow warbler and goshawks among birds.
Fun fact: For the fourth year, the park will host the Tri the Boat triathlons special this summer. The two-day event features a half-Ironman race: a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride and half-marathon run.

Directions: Drive north to Denver and then head west on I-70 to Silverthorne. Exit onto Colorado 9 and go north to Kremmling. Turn left onto U.S. 40 and go 45 miles. Turn left onto County Road 20 and follow for 2 miles. Turn left onto Colorado 131 and go 3 miles. Turn left onto County Road 14 and follow to the park.
