Colorado Quiz: National Monuments Edition
LarryKnupp
Colorado’s National Monuments protect important pieces of Colorado’s history, culture, and natural landscape. Some, like Canyons of the Ancients, contain ancient structures and artifacts such as pottery sherds and chipped stones dating back to the 12th century. Established in 1911 by President Taft, Colorado National Monument is the oldest monument in the state. Browns Canyon, between Salida and Buena Vista is the newest National Monument, declared as such in February 2015 by President Obama.
