Come for the Cave, Stay for the Canyon Swing

Not only is this attraction home to an elaborate cavern system, it’s also home to an entire mountain adventure park with a variety of other attractions for visitors to enjoy. Open year round, the Cave of the Winds is one Colorado destination that’s a must-see for your next slow weekend.

One of the new rides at Cave of the Winds Mountain Park is the Terror-Dactyl. It’s a giant canyon swing that drops riders off a 200-foot cliff. Want to experience it for yourself? Check out our 360° video at the bottom of this page.

The Cave of the Winds Mountain Park is also home to a high-ropes obstacle course, overhanging a 600-foot drop into Williams Canyon.

The cave was discovered by two exploring brothers in 1881, avoided up until that point due to folklore and myths originating from the whistling sounds made from wind rushing through caverns.
Even if you’re not looking to enjoy one of the many paid attractions on site, stopping by is still worth the visit thanks to the amazing views of Williams Canyon below.
