Things To Do
Adrenaline junkies live for winter in the Roaring Fork Valley, but summer’s not too shabby either, and one reason is the Aspen Snowmass Bike Park. Cyclists can take the Elk Camp Gondola to the Elk Camp Chairlift and then fly down 2,897 vertical feet to the Snowmass Base Village. There is a skills park for beginners and plenty of moderately steep trails and flatter cross-country routes for intermediate riders. For the hardcore, the steep plunges and tight curves of Viking, Vapor, and Valhalla trails will get the blood pumping. The park offers more than 50 miles of trails, and lifts run from late June through Labor Day and on weekends through early October. The price of a one-day lift ticket was $42 as of the summer of 2016.
