The largest and southern-most glacier in Colorado is Arapaho Glacier, west of Boulder near the Indian Peaks Wilderness. The glacier measures half-mile wide and quarter-mile long and is a primary source of drinking water for the city of Boulder. The hike is a moderate four miles from the Fourth of July Trailhead to an overlook that provides the best view of the glacier. The glacier itself is off limits to the public.
Pro Tips
