Geocaching, a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game, is a favorite activity of outdoor enthusiasts around the world. There are over two million active geocaches around the world, and Colorado is home to some of the most enjoyable places to geocache. To play, participants type in a particular set of coordinates into a GPS device, which they get from geocaching.com. They then navigate to that spot and log their find. If there is a treasure in the cache, the participant can take the treasure, but must leave something of equal or greater value for the next person to find. 1. Tarryall, Colorado

This tiny town in eastern Park County on the eastern edge of South Park is home to Colorado’s first ever geocache. Explore through these abandoned mining cabins and be a part of geocaching history. Click here for more info!

Although Breckenridge is famous for its local ski area, there are over 300 geocaches located all across Breckenridge, making it one of the best Colorado geocaching destinations.
