Truck Flips Spilling Dozens of Pigs onto I-70

According to 9 News, dozens of pigs spilled across Interstate 70 today when a semi that was transporting them rolled over. The wreck occurred near Glenwood Springs Monday afternoon, closing down the westbound lane of the highway for several hours.

Following the wreck, the Colorado Department of Transportation was quick to the scene, containing the pigs while the semi was moved. With temperatures rising into the 80s, the Glenwood Springs Fire Department assisted in spraying the pigs with water to keep them cool. The road was eventually reopened around 8 PM.
