5 Colorado Events For This Weekend, October 20 – 22

Get out there this weekend for events for the whole family. Go on some hay rides, enjoy a family-friendly trick-or-treat at a zoo, blend in for a fundraiser run, pick out the perfect seasonal pumpkin, enjoy a harvest festival, or dress up as a gorilla or banana and run for charity.

1. Boo at the Zoo

This family-friendly event takes place at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs on October 20 – 22, October 27 – 29, & October 31st. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo closes at 3 pm each day in preparation and gates open up at 4 pm for those who have tickets. Dress up in your favorite Halloween costume and enjoy the festivities.

2. The Waldo Waldo 5K

5 Colorado Events For This Weekend, October 20 – 22

Dress up as the favorite, yet impossible to find character as you join in on this 5K walk/ run fundraiser. The race began in 2012 with thousands of participants helping to raise more than $175,000 for local non-profits. All registered participants receive their “Where’s Waldo?” or “Where’s Wenda?” costume kit which is $35 before the race and $40 the day of. Stick around after the run for an assortment of food trucks and a beer garden.

3. Pumpkins at the Covered Bridge Ranch

Located in Montrose, head over to the Covered Bridge Ranch and pick out the perfect pumpkin at the pumpkin patch to celebrate this fall. While you’re there, check out the festivities such as the pumpkin patch, a treasure hunt, hay rides, rabbit hole slide, and more.

4. 14th Annual Gorilla Run

Meet the charitable event in Denver that you can dress up as a gorilla or banana and literally monkey around. Run or Walk in this 5K non-competitive race that goes to benefit the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund. Be creative and enter in the Most Creative Costume Contest at 10:30 am.

5. Harvest Festival at Town Center

Head to the Town Center in Aurora on Saturday, October 21st for their first Harvest Festival to participate in this family-friendly event. Activities include kids train rides, live music, balloon art, bounce houses, face painting, and more! Enter in the drawing for prizes valued over $300.

For an adventurous Halloween, hike along this three mile trail as you search for Ms. Emma Crawford’s Memorial in this haunted hike leading you to the Crystal Valley Cemetery.
