5 Colorado Events for this Weekend, December 15 – 17
It’s the time of the year again when holiday events are popping up all over Colorado. It’s time to put on those festive clothes and bring out the holiday cheer. Here’s five Colorado events happening this week ranging from ski and snowboard competitions to a live Broadway Musical and mountain town holiday celebrations.
1. Winter Dew Tour

The Winter Dew Tour returns to Breckenridge on December 14 – 17, 2017. Check out the Halfpipe and Slopestyle competitions. The Dew Tour also hosts Team Challenge and Streetstyle competitions with a schedule of fan-based activities. Rock out with the Dew Tour Concert featuring The Floozies + Anomalie during the festival.

2. Holiday Prelude 2017
The Town of Telluride and Mountain Village transforms for the holidays with the main events happening on December 16 and 17, 2017. Enjoy a whole weekend dedicated to holiday movies, photos with Santa, train rides, ice skating, live reindeer, and so much more. Dress up in your favorite holiday clothes and join the tree lighting ceremony with Santa and carolers in the Heritage Plaza at 6 pm on Saturday.

3. Steamboat Holiday Festival

On December 17, 2017 the holiday spirit fills the streets of Steamboat Springs as the Steamboat Holiday Festival arrives. Head out to Gondola Square and witness Santa riding down the slopes on horseback and then stay to meet Santa at his workshop accompanied by his reindeer friends. There will be a stocking scramble available for anyone who wants to participate, which allows you to collect free holiday treats from surrounding stores and restaurants.

4. Elf The Musical

Let’s face it—we all have a holiday tradition of watching the movie, Elf. So why not mix it up a bit and watch a live musical version of it? Head over to the Buell Theatre in Denver to see this live performance of this Broadway Musical which is perfect for anyone to enjoy.

5. Electric Safari
Held nightly at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, come out and celebrate the holiday season as the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo transforms for the holiday. With 85 light sculptures on over 50 acres, warming fires, and select indoor animal exhibits remaining open, this is a fun and unique way to see the Zoo during the holidays.
