[BREAKING] Climber Dies in Cañon City After 60-Foot Fall

A rock climber died Saturday after falling 60 feet in the Banks Hiking Area known as “the Piggy Bank” off Red Canyon Road in Canon City, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office said.

Lifesaving measures were taken but the climber was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name, age, and gender of the rock climber was not released pending notification to family.
