Police investigating “active shooting incident” in northeast Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs police are investigating “an active shooting incident” in northeast Colorado Springs.
The shooting was reported Friday near North Union Boulevard and Vickers Drive.
Preliminary information indicates that shots were fired at police, and that police returned fire, said Colorado Springs police spokesman Lt. Howard Black.
No one has been hit.
At about 4:40 p.m., police tweeted that the situation was “not safe” and asked residents in the area to stay inside and away from windows.
A Reverse 911 message was sent to residents in the area. Police have also asked residents not to open door to strangers.
Roads are blocked, and police are asking people to avoid the area.
