“The Dude” is Back
Pendleton has officially re-released the sweater made famous by cult-classic film “The Big Lebowski” and this time around, it’s not just for men.
Making it’s original debut in 1972, “The Original Westerly,” also known as “The Dude,” can be purchased online for $239.00. While only the men’s version is available on their website, a women’s fit is coming soon (as seen in the feature image of this piece). The price tag may seem high, but keep in mind that Pendleton goods are known for their lasting durability.
This re-release is timed to line-up with the film’s 20th anniversary. “The Big Lebowski” tells the tale of a man on a quest to get restitution for a ruined rug with the help of his bowling friends.
Jeff `The Dude' Leboswki is mistaken for Jeffrey Lebowski, who is The Big Lebowski. Which explains why he's roughed up and has his precious rug peed on. In search of recompense, The Dude tracks down his namesake, who offers him a job. His wife has been kidnapped and he needs a reliable bagman. Aided and hindered by his pals Walter Sobchak, a Vietnam vet, and Donny, master of stupidity.
And don’t worry, Pendleton didn’t pay us to write this piece. We just think the jacket is that stinkin’ cool.
