A new spot in the Old Town area of Fort Collins, The Exchange is a common consumption space where foodies and bar-goers can enjoy multiple fun options at one stop. A common area surrounded by various breweries, eateries, and more, simply grab your drink from the establishment of your choice and head to the middle area. Pups are allowed on-leash and well-behaved and this destination is family-friendly.

Spring Canyon off-leash dog park is unique because it’s not just a place for the dogs to play – it’s also a place for them to swim. There are three different areas at this destination – a large and open play space, a designated small dog area, and a fenced in space that’s got a small pond. If you’re looking for a semi-controlled area to teach the pup to swim, this spot is a pretty great option.

3. The Elizabeth Hotel

Not only is this music-themed hotel one of the coolest stays in town, The Elizabeth is also very dog-friendly. Find unique rooms, elaborate decor, and a rooftop jazz bar that can’t be skipped. Not in the mood for jazz? You’ve got two other options for dining and drinks at this stay. A true Colorado classic, New Belgium Brewery is probably the Fort Collins brewery that you’re most likely to have heard of – and for a good reason. Visit New Belgium on a sunny day for a great outdoor brewery experience with the pup. They’ve got food trucks, games, and plenty of space to kick back and enjoy some rays. Be warned: dogs aren’t allowed on the brewery tour and must be leashed at all times while they’re on the premise.

5. Horsetooth Rock & Falls Trail

If you’re looking for a fulfilling, but doable trail in the Fort Collins area, the hike to Horsetooth Rock (and falls) is one that can’t be skipped. High above Horsetooth Reservoir, this hike is filled with scenic views, wild flowers, and some optional rock scrambling. For extra mileage, add the hike to Horsetooth Falls onto your route. Be warned: Parking can get crowded at this destination and there is an entrance fee.

One of the more vibrant downtown squares in Colorado, Old Town Square in Fort Collins is a must-see during a visit. Even if you’re not stopping in one of the many shops, restaurants, or bars, it’s a great place to simply mosey around.

7. Wagz Pet Market

Pet store meets groomer, Wagz is a spot your furry friend is sure to love. Stock up on treats and gear or get the pup washed off after a day of adventure.

Ever want to play putt-putt with the pup? Now’s your chance. Old Town Putt is a bar meets putt-putt course that’s in the aforementioned “The Exchange” area. They serve up great cocktails and the chance to get a hole-in-one. If your dog is well-behaved and on-leash, he or she is able to join you for a round.
