96 crashes reported on Denver roads in 3-hour period

Nearly one hundred of crashes and counting were reported across the Denver metro area Thursday morning as a storm continues to deliver a wintry mix of heavy snow, ice, and strong gusty winds throughout Colorado.
The storm that moved into Colorado Wednesday evening is contributing to slick and icy road conditions surrounding the Denver metro area, resulting in a traffic nightmare for commuters. Hundreds of flights coming in and out of Denver International Airport have already been either delayed or canceled.
Denver is also on accident alert due to the alarming number of crash calls. According to the Denver Police Department (DPD), 96 crashes were reported between a 3-hour period.
