“#JustStayHome” warns Colorado Springs Police Department
A snowstorm is starting to land across Colorado with a wintery mix expected to cause major issues during rush hour traffic. Delays are already starting to occur on I-25 and I-70.
Authorities around the state are warning drivers to simply avoid travel if possible.
The I-25 Gap is getting covered in the Rocky Mountain White Stuff already. Just in time for rush hour. Please plan ahead! And if at all possible, #JustStayHome pic.twitter.com/JIkDPDwL4w — CSP Colorado Springs (@CSP_CSprings) October 23, 2019
The I-25 “Gap” area is expected to be a major trouble spot, with the mix of weather and construction limiting travel options and alternative routes. Monument Hill between Colorado Springs and Denver is expected to have bad road conditions. Closures are possible.
The Colorado Springs area is expected to get 6 to 8 inches, with the summit of Pikes Peak predicted to catch 23.
