1,600+ flights disrupted by Colorado snowstorm

Heavy snow disrupted air traffic across major Colorado airports for two consecutive days, causing the cancellation or delays of thousands of flights (and counting).

Passengers are urged to check the status of their flight before heading to the following airports: Denver International Airport, Grand Junction Regional Airport, and Colorado Springs Airport.

According to FlightAware, 999 flights were delayed and 52 flights were canceled on Sunday coming in and out of Denver International Airport. As of 3:00 p.m. Monday, there were 431 delayed flights and 88 canceled flights. 

Over the last 2 days, there have been 55 delayed flights and 3 canceled flights coming in and out of the Colorado Springs Airport. There have also been 8 delayed flights and 2 canceled flights reported coming in and out of the Grand Junction Regional Airport.

Colorado continues to brace for more snow Monday into Wednesday, with winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories in effect for many parts of the state including the northern and central mountain areas, I-70 corridor, and areas surrounding the Front Range and eastern plains.

Independence PassTrail Ridge Road, and Mount Evans Scenic Byway are all closed for the winter season. Passenger Vehicle Traction Laws, Passenger Vehicle Chain Laws, and Commercial Vehicles Chain Laws are currently in effect across parts of the state. For more information, click here.
