Negative temperatures to hit parts of Colorado + Colorado forecast
A winter storm is rolling through Colorado, bringing plenty of snow and freezing temperatures with it. Expected to continue through Wednesday, some parts of the state are already experiencing single-digit temperatures with more of a drop expected.
According to Accuweather, temperatures in Alamosa (located in the San Luis Valley) could drop to -5 on Wednesday. High-altitude summits around the state will also experience extremely cold weather, including Pikes Peak, which could hit a low of -18 on Tuesday with a windchill of -40.
Temperatures in Denver are expected to drop down to 8 degrees, with snow falling Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Nearby Longs Peak will likely see a summit temperature of -20 on Tuesday, with a windchill of -44.
In the high country, Aspen is expected to experience snow through Wednesday and a low of -3 at the tail-end of the storm. The Maroon Bells summit is expected to experience a windchill of -36, with a temperature of -17.
In the southwest, Telluride will be experiencing snowfall and temperatures as low as 3 degrees.
A second wave of snow is expected to hit Colorado Springs on Tuesday. Single-digit temperatures are expected overnight throughout the duration of this storm.
Boulder will likely see a low of 9 degrees on Tuesday with 3 to 6 inches of snow.
