Fatal crash closes highway 6 near Keystone Resort
UPDATE: The crash was fatal.
According to the Colorado State Police, Highway 6 is closed to westbound traffic at mile post 214 following a “serious crash.” Mile post 214 is located between Keystone Resort and Dillon Reservoir, just before the turnoff to Swan Mountain Road if headed west.
Delays can be expected.
It’s unclear is weather was a factor in the wreck. The Keystone area is expecting snow through Friday, with 4 inches landing in the last 24 hours and more on the way.

Highway 6 is also closed near Wolcott at mile marker 156. This closure is expected to last up to an hour. It will cause delays.
Severe winter is rolling through parts of the state today, with up to 30 inches expected over the course of the storm in some regions. Drive safe and proceed with caution.
