Major rockslide shuts down lanes of I-70 in Colorado
A major snowstorm has rolled into Colorado dumping big totals around the state. It is advised that you avoid travel, with multiple closures on major roads.
Update: I-70 is now open from Golden to the Eisenhower Tunnel.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, a major rockslide has shut down I-70 Westbound at Exit 248, which is located at Beaver Brook and Floyd Hill. The slide occurred near Genesee Park, 2 miles east of Floyd Hill. There is no current estimate of when the road will reopen. Details regarding whether or not vehicles were hit in the slide have not been publicly released.
A separate, fatal crash has occurred on I-70 in Eagle County. HAZMAT is on scene. This is also expected to cause an extended closure.

According to Colorado State Police, there are no good alternate routes.
