7 Ski country Christmas celebrations you’ll find in Colorado in 2019
Nothing says Christmas in Colorado like a skiing Santa, snow-capped peaks, and plenty of slopeside cheer. Unwrap the magic of the 2019 holiday season with a handful of festive events happening around the ski resorts in Colorado. Here are just a few of our favorite ways to celebrate Christmas on the mountain.
1. Arapahoe Basin Ski Area
Celebrate Christmas with a joyful ride with Santa at Arapahoe Basin. Santa Claus will be making a special appearance at 11:00 AM in the A-Frame Lodge and Mountain Goat Plaza. Bring the kids and grab some treats before Santa makes second and third rounds at Molly Hogan and the Black Mountain Lodge. More details here.
2. Copper Mountain
Ring in the holidays with epic mountainside festivities including a torchlight parade, blasts of colorful fireworks, hot cocoa, and slopeside fun for the entire family at Copper Mountain. A magical evening awaits, from 4:45 PM to 9:00 PM on December 24.
3. Crested Butte Mountain
Come down the mountain, grab some hot cocoa, and say hello to Santa Claus at Crested Butte Mountain on Christmas Eve. For all the bakers out there, put your creative skills to the test with a Christmas cookie decorating party held at Butte 66. For more details, click here.
4. Loveland Ski Area
Get into the spirit of the holidays at Loveland Ski Area, with skiing Santa on both December 24 and 25. Visits from Santa will also take place at the Ski & Ride School and Children’s Center. Grab a candy cane, pose for some photos, and shred holiday cheer!
5. Monarch Mountain
Santa will be riding slopes at Monarch Mountain and passing out candy canes and stickers on December 24 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The tubing park is also open seven days a week for $28 an hour and $14 an hour for children 6 and under. Get the full scoop here.
6. Winter Park Resort
Get ready for a Christmas Eve adventure at Winter Park Resort. Santa will be hanging out at the Village Gazebo from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on December 24, followed by a snow-filled celebration featuring a torchlight parade, fireworks, and bonfire-side viewing at 5:30 PM. More details here.
7. Wolf Creek Ski Area
Celebrate the holiday season in true Colorado fashion with Santa Claus comin’ to the mountains of Wolf Creek Ski Area. Ride fresh powder and enjoy visits from Santa, taking place on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
