Snow tonight, bigger storm on the way in parts of Colorado

Get ready for another round of potential travel troubles as mountain-bound snow and strong winds move into parts of Colorado soon to be followed by the start of a second stronger storm this weekend.

The National Weather Service says more snow and gusty winds are expected in the northern and central mountains late Wednesday evening into Thursday morning. This round of wintry weather is expected to be on the mild side, bringing accumulations of 1 to 2 inches with winds gusting up to 40 mph.

Looking Ahead

According to Joel Gratz of  OpenSnow, Thursday through Saturday will be mostly dry with sparse clouds in the mountain skies and above normal temperatures set in the high 20s and 30s. After the mild stretch, the next incoming storm could deliver consecutive powder days from Sunday to Wednesday (March 1-4), potentially bringing more than 10 inches.
