Aurora police officer dies in car crash
An officer from the Aurora Police Department died after a car crash Friday night.
APD said the officer was off-duty at the time of the crash. The department confirmed the officer died as a result of injuries sustained during the crash.
APD is not releasing any information about the crash or identifying the officer at this time.
“We are respectfully requesting on behalf of the family to respect their privacy during their time of loss,” a police spokeswoman said. “We will not be providing any additional information related to the traffic crash they were involved in to include the identity of the officer.”
