Aurora hit with 8 grass fires along High Line Canal
Aurora Fire Rescue reported eight separate grass fires along the High Line Canal near South Moline Street Monday afternoon.
Multiple crews worked to extinguish the fires in less than two hours, Aurora Fire Rescue said.
Firefighters arrived on scene to five grass fires before 1 p.m., with the number of fires increasing to eight within an hour.
There were no reports of injuries.
Witnesses said they saw a man and woman starting the fires and running from the area, according to a fire rescue spokeswoman.
The cause of the fires is under investigation by the Aurora Fire Rescue.
