Report: Denver Japanese restaurant named best takeout in Colorado
The Denver Japanese restaurant Izakaya Den was named the best takeout restaurant in Colorado in a Move.org report released Tuesday.
The sister restaurant to Denver’s Sushi Den, Izakaya Den is also a winner of the American Architecture Award, Distinguished Restaurants of North America and one of Food Network’s Best Rooftop Restaurants in the Country.
“Thanks to COVID-19, takeout is more important than ever,” the report said. “Many owners are meeting the increased demand for takeout while keeping customers safe and following social distancing requirements.”
Since COVID-19 began, 25% of U.S. respondents order takeout two to four times per week and 75% have increased support for locally-owned restaurants, according to the report.
The report used data from Tripadvisor to find the highest-rated takeout restaurants in the most populated city of every state.
Izakaya Den, located on South Pearl Street, currently has a 4.5-star rating on Tripadvisor, a 4.7-star rating on Google reviews and a 4.5-star rating on Yelp.
According to the report, the most common highest-rated takeout foods in the country are American foods and desserts, being number one in 17 and 15 states respectively.
Only three states in the country had an Asian restaurant as their number one takeout restaurant: Colorado, Kansas and North Carolina.
