Firefighters extinguish small fire at base of Boulder Canyon

First responders from several agencies extinguished a fire at the base of Boulder Canyon Thursday afternoon.

Authorities received a report of a small grass fire at the base of the Canyon, which is adjacent to Boulder shortly after 3:30 p.m.

The Boulder Fire Department, 4-mile Fire Department, Boulder County Fire Management, Boudler Open Space, Mountains Parks Rangers and Boulder County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the call.

At the scene, first responders found a 20-foot by 30-foot fire that was quickly put out.

Although authorities do not know the official cause of the fire, they believe it was caused by humans, according the the release.

There were no injuries or property damaged as a result of the fire.
