Two westbound Interstate 70 ramps will be closing on Tuesday as part of the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Central 70 Project.

The westbound I-70 off-ramp to Monaco Street will close permanently. The Quebec Street on-ramp to westbound I-70 will close for approximately two weeks.

The closures begin at 10 p.m. Tuesday.

For the Quebec Street on-ramp, drivers will detour west on Stapleton Drive and use the Holly Street on-ramp to access westbound I-70.

Officials said the closures will allow crews to rebuild the on-ramp and to accommodate the final alignment of the widened highway.

The Central 70 Project will reconstruct a 10-mile stretch of I-70, adding an express lane in each direction, removing the 56-year-old viaduct and lowering the interstate between Brighton and Colorado boulevards.
