One in custody for Mesa County stabbing Friday
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office arrested 40-year-old Jonah Guerette for a stabbing that occurred Friday morning, the sheriff’s office said.
Guerette, a Clifton resident, is facing a first-degree assault charge.
Deputies responded to the 600 block of 33 Road in Clifton at 10:30 a.m.
Upon their arrival, they found a man suffering from stab wounds, the sheriff’s office said.
The 42-year-old victim was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction with serious injuries. Deputies said he is recovering.
The case is still under investigation. Guerette is being held in the Mesa County Detention Facility.
