Ticket sales began Friday for the Denver Zoo’s 30th anniversary of Zoo Lights.

From Nov. 23 to Dec. 31, the Denver Zoo will be illuminated with more than 1 million lights spread over 80 acres to celebrate the holiday season.

Each year, Zoo Lights sell out for each weekend and nearly every weekday in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

Tickets will be even sparser this year as the zoo said it has significantly limited the number nightly attendees to encourage social distancing.

Other COVID-19 precautions include timing entrance tickets in 30-minute increments, creating a one-way path around the zoo, providing hand washing stations and requiring all guests over the age of 3 wear masks.

Zoo Lights is restricted to zoo members only from Nov. 23 to Dec. 3.

Tickets are available online at DenverZoo.org. Tickets cannot be purchased in-person.
