A suspect who led police on a pursuit from Westminster to Superior on Friday night remains on the loose, law enforcement officials said Saturday.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m. Friday, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office was informed of an active pursuit by Westminster police of a vehicle believed to be carjacked in Montrose County.

Before deputies arrived, the driver drove into a dead end at an apartment complex in Superior and ran away from the scene.

BCSD deputies assisted the Westminster Police Department in tracking the suspect with K-9s and notification to residents enrolled in the Everbridge notification system, but the suspect was not found.

Through an investigation, law enforcement officials concluded the vehicle was listed as stolen in October, and was not carjacked.

Authorities say they have no indication that the suspect is a threat to the public.
