Injured hiker rescued from Bluebell Spur Trail on Tuesday
Boulder County Sheriff officials say they rescued an injured hiker from Bluebell Spur Trail on Tuesday afternoon.
The department received a call shortly before noon from a 42-year-old woman who had hurt her ankle while on the trail, just southwest of the Chautauqua Meadow, according to a media release from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
First responders hiked onto the trail and were able to locate and treat the hiker’s injury on scene.
Members of the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group put her in a litter and carried her to an ambulance where she was transported back to her vehicle.
The injured hiker then sought medical care on her own, according to the release.
The rescue operation only took an hour and a half.
Boulder County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by RMRG, American Medical Response and the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks.
