Adams County Motor Vehicle offices will shut down until further notice as COVID-19 cases continue to rise.
Offices will not process transactions over the phone, by mail or in-person, after the closure on Thursday, according to a news press release.
“This is an important step for us to take to ensure the health and safety of our Motor Vehicle employees and our residents,” Josh Zygielbaum, Adams County Clerk & Recorder, said in the release. “We appreciate the patience and understanding of our customers during this nationwide pandemic and public health crisis.”
Officials are encouraging Adam County residents to addresses their motor vehicle services online.
Those who are due to renew their license tabs, plates, or registration will be provided a letter that they can print and present to officers if they are pulled over. Individuals who already had a scheduled appointment will be contacted before the closure goes into effect.
