A man ran himself over with his own vehicle while conducting a repair Tuesday in Denver’s Chaffee Park neighborhood, the Denver Police Department announced.
The man was pronounced dead shortly after the accident.
The incident happened in the 5100 block of Osage Street near the intersection of North Pecos Street and West 52nd Avenue. Police originally incorrectly reported the address as the 1500 block of North Osage Street.
DPD first announced the accident at 10:46 a.m.
Initially, DPD believed the incident was a result of a driver striking a pedestrian with their vehicle. However, the investigation revealed that the victim was actually the driver of the vehicle involved.
The identity of the victim and official cause of death will be released by the Office of the Medical Examiner at a later date.
