Man arrested after barricade incident in Thornton

Thornton Police officials say a man has been brought into custody after barricading himself in a car with a weapon on Thursday.
According to a tweet by the police department the situation occurred at Home Town Studios at 8750 Grant St. on Thornton’s southwest side.

Authorities were able to apprehend the adult male without any incident, but say there is still a large police presence in the area.
At this time there appears to be no risk to the community, according to the tweet.
