Law enforcement officials are searching for three suspects accused of robbing multiple banks since November.
In the latest heist, authorities say the trio entered a Bank of the West in the 12000 block of Colorado Boulevard in Thornton and began a take-over style robbery on Tuesday shortly after 1:30 p.m.
Officials say the three men entered the bank armed with handguns and later pistol-whipped a bank teller.
Authorities say the trio are believed to have robbed a BBVA Compass Bank in Englewood on Nov. 19 and FirstBank in Englewood on Dec 2., but in both prior robberies there had been four suspects, according a news release.
The suspects are described as being white or Hispanic males, wearing hoodies and gloves and are all between the ages of 20 and 30-years-old.
Metro Denver Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrests and convictions of the bank robbers.
