Brighton Fire Rescue responded to a hazmat situation Tuesday afternoon after a report of an unknown chemical at an adult living facility.
Natalie Ridderbos, the public information officer for the fire department, said that officials are currently investigating the situation and do not currently know what type of material was spilled.
Fire officials were dispatched shortly after 4 p.m. to Inglenook at Brighton, a senior living facility at 2195 E. Egbert St., after reports of a water flow issue, which later turned into a hazmat situation.
One of the wings of the senior living facility was evacuated, but the situation was stabilized shortly before 5:30 p.m.
Ridderbos said that no injuries were reported as a result of the incident, but three individuals –not named or described– were transported to a nearby medical facility for observation.
The investigation is ongoing.
