The last 158 acres of a Commerce City property were sold last month to the national real estate development firm Becknell Industries.

Becknell Industries, based in Indiana, has four locations in Aurora and Commerce City. The sale of the Nexus North property was brokered by longtime Colorado Springs real estate development company Schuck Communities.

“After 50 years in business, Nexus has proven to be one of our most successful projects and one of which everyone can be proud,” said Steve Schuck, chairman of Schuck Communities.

Denver's Larimer Square sold to out-of-state company

Schuck said multiple global companies are looking to expand warehouse and distribution facilities in the area, including McLane Foods, GE Appliances and Lowe’s.

This completes the sale of nearly 400 acres of industrial land belonging to Nexus North in Nexus DIATC and the Nexus Technology & Commerce Park.

The property is located in Commerce City at Tower Road between 81st and 88th avenues.

“Commerce City had a vision for this area when it voted to improve the intersection at Tower Road and Pena Boulevard and complete widening improvements on Tower Road,” said Schuck Communities CEO Brock Chapman.

Homes remain scarce in Colorado Springs and Denver

“While Nexus is serving the interests of high-quality, job-generating employers in the business park, it is also serving the long-term economic interests of all stakeholders in the region.”

Drew McManus, Bryan Frye and Ryan Searle of Cushman & Wakefield brokered all land sales at Nexus.

The team is currently co-leasing 600,000 square feet of multi-tenant space being completed by Lincoln Properties at Nexus.
