Poll: Coloradans are top 10 happiest in the country to work from home

Regarding working from home, Coloradans are happier than residents from nearly every other state, according to a national poll conducted by Improb.com.

On average, Coloradans ranked their happiness as 7.4 out of 10, significantly higher than the national average of 6.6.

Colorado tied for the fifth-highest state ranking with California and North Carolina.

The top four states were South Dakota with a 9.0 ranking, Florida with 8.0, Missouri with 7.6 and Virginia with 7.5.

The least happy state to work from home is West Virginia with an average rating of 4.5.

“Productivity and happiness are on the up when people work from home,” said Alex Coleman with Improb.com.

“Perhaps when the worst of the pandemic is over, companies will look at a flexible solution, allowing employees to have the best of both worlds.”

According to the poll, 61% of employees report putting in more daily work hours while working from home and 55% report taking fewer breaks. Predictably, 76% take fewer sick days.

Law industry workers are the happiest working from home (7.1 out of 10) and information technology professionals are the least happy (4.9 out of 10).
