Person, dog rescued from house fire near Denver’s Sloan Lake

One person and a dog were rescued Wednesday morning from a house fire in the Sloan Lake neighborhood, the Denver Fire Department said.

The fire happened at 2645 Meade St., near the Highland Recreation Center, officials said. The Denver Fire Department announced the fire just before 9 a.m.

The victim was taken to a hospital by Denver Health paramedics to evaluate their injuries. Their status is unknown.

Officials are not certain what caused the fire.

Crews are still on the scene working to extinguish hot spots as investigators begin trying to determine the cause.
