CSP investigating fatal crash in Pueblo County
The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is investigating a one vehicle fatal crash that left a passenger dead near Pueblo Saturday morning.
The crash occurred on Interstate 25 just north of Pueblo when a 1999 Ford Expedition driven by 42-year-old Mark Hairie lost control and went over an embankment and through a fence.
The vehicle stopped after rolling over into a field, officials said.
A passenger in the vehicle, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim will be released at a later date.
Hairie suffered only minor injuries and was released from the site of the accident.
Excessive speed, drugs and alcohol are not considered to be contributing factors at this time.
CSP says charges will be filed pending further investigation.
