Aurora police warn public of two attempted kidnappings in one week

The Aurora Police Department asked the public to be cautious Wednesday following two attempted kidnappings within days of each other.

Police said the kidnapping attempts happened in the Mission Viejo and Summer Valley neighborhoods.

The first attempt was on Jan. 5 at around 1:30 p.m. A 10-year-old girl was playing outside near the intersection of South Quintero Court and South Richfield Street when a man tried to grab her.

The suspect is described as a white man wearing a black ski mask, a red and black flannel shirt and blue jeans.

The second attempt happened Tuesday at 6 p.m. Police said a man tried to grab a 12-year-old boy in Mission Viejo Park.

The man was described as bald with a dark beard and possible tattoos on his arm.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed or captured videos/photos of these incidents is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.

Tipsters can remain anonymous and are eligible for a $2,000 reward.
