Jose Yepes, a counselor at a Boulder treatment facility, was arrested Friday for sexually assaulting one of his patients, the Boulder Police Department announced.
Yepes, 48, was previously employed at Boulder’s Warner House facility as a milieu counselor, someone who helps people with crisis intervention, drug/alcohol rehabilitation or mental health recovery.
Police said a female patient reported Yepes to police, saying he had repeatedly contacted her and initiated sexual contacts.
Yepes was charged with stalking, unlawful sexual contact and indecent exposure. He was fired from Warner House immediately after the start of the investigation.
He is currently being held at the Boulder County Jail.
Police believe Yepes likely has more victims in the area. Anyone with information or who might be another victim is asked to call Det. Marples at 303-441-3345.
