Crashes close northbound I-25 in northern Colorado, I-70 in Aurora
As snow began to drop around the metro area Tuesday afternoon, driving conditions deteriorated along roadways, leading to delays and the closure of Interstate 25 in northern Colorado and Interstate 70 in Aurora.
In the late afternoon, officials closed Eastbound I-70 at Tower Road just before 4:30 p.m. because of a crash that caused serious injuries, Aurora Police Department officials said.
Officials reopened eastbound I-70 just after 5 p.m.
Earlier in the day, the Colorado State Patrol announced the closure of I-25 at Highway 402 in Loveland after multiple crashes were reported that included large semitrucks.

CSP announced the closure just before 1 p.m. and the interstate wouldn’t reopen again until 4:50 p.m.
Six people were transported to a nearby hospital as a result of the accident, CSP officials said.
Other roadways across he metro area were closed because of crashes, including Highway 6 near Federal Boulevard in Denver and westbound Interstate 70 in Aurora.

Serious injuries were reported in the crash on westbound I-70 in Aurora, officials said.
