One dead after shooting in Aurora

One person died after a shooting in the Del Mal Parkway neighborhood in Aurora Monday night. 

Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1300 block of Alton Street, according to a release from the Aurora Police Department (APD).

Officers located an adult male who had suffered a gunshot wound and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for his injuries. He later died as a result of his injuries.

The identity of the victim will be released at a later date by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office following notification of his next of kin.

Officials within APD’s homicide unit are actively investigating to gather information into what led to the shooting and to hopefully identify a possible suspect, official said.

Any information leading the arrest and conviction of the shooter will become eligible for up to a $2,000 reward.
